Illustrator, 3D Artist, University Lecturer
Hailing from the a small mining town ‘Oop Norf’, Dave is a University Lecturer specializing in Character Modelling, Sculpting and General 3D Design for the Animation, Game, and Toy Industry. Daves main influences come from the world of Science fiction, World Cinema and Music. Constantly looking for new and exciting stories and inspiration to pull from, his experience in the entertainment industry has given Dave the chance to write and design some interesting stories.
The Common Swings
Chris Browning has been a librarian, lecturer, not very good double glazing salesman and freelance-free-gifts-from-packets-of-crisps duster. Mostly he has been a hairy bloke with two cats and too many ideas, many of which he has poured into issues of the Common Swings.
The Common Swings has, over the last six years, considered cats, jazz, PE teachers, balls, rude birds, villains and much, much more. He draws pictures and writes words, and sometimes both at once.
He has two cats, Cluedo and Spooky, who tries to stop his artistic endeavours as often as possible by sitting in the middle of them and a wife who supports him as long as he lets her watch “Judge Judy” in peace.
Tom Burleigh is a writer of comics, short stories and story poems. His works includes The Troubles of Magnet Boy and Other Gloomy Tales, Reluctance, The Window, The Graverobber and Nancy.
Mizzle / Out of Hours Comics
Following a longcareer in graphic and web design, Cat has recently abandoned the comforts of a dependable income and focused her attention to her true roots: drawing comics, and nurturing her peculiar dress sense.
Cat is currently relaunching her former webcomic Mizzle as a graphic novel, and is also involved with Out of Hours Comics and Blunderthrust.
In her spare time she draws an inordinate amount of Ninja Turtles.
Cat will have something for all budgets for sale: comics, art prints, original art, postcards and badges.
The Card Abides (Natassia Bentley)
Alongside working in a comic and boardgame shop in Leeds, Tash designs and makes geeky greeting cards inspired by comics, gaming, film and TV.
She is currently working on badge and sticker sets as well as patches of her designs, and is due to start writing a sci-fi noir comic later this year.
Elizabeth Crane – Discord Designs
If you like bright colours and cute monster girls then my work might be for you! I’m a Leeds based artist who is stepping into the Zine and comic world this year, but I have been exhibiting at convention for just over three years now. I hope you like what I have to offer.
Niche humour for a limited audience.

Rachael has recently held a stall at The Manchester Printfair #11 and was selected as a finalist of the 2015 Neo Art Prize. Rachael most recently exhibition was at Dysfunction Gallery in Strathaven, Scotland in April 2016.

Ben Haith – Robotendo
Science technician by day, comic artist and illustrator by night. His comics and illustrations combine influences from real life, video games, Japan, D&D, slapstick humour and reading the Beano as a kid.
He has self published two issues of his comic Storm Haven Techs, and is currently working on an all-ages webcomic which will be going live soon!
He can normally be found in the wilds of Leeds, stomping on mushrooms and trying to squeeze down pipes.
Sam Hardacre – Skinny Drawn Boy
I draw random things in sketchbooks and any scrap of paper while I try to get ideas for comics off the ground. Most recently I’ve been dabbling in creating pop culture fan art for a gallery in Brooklyn, New York.
Liam ‘Pais’ Hill
Highgreen Dawn / Slug cafe
Pais is a comic artist who writes about bands, slugs and space potatoes and likes referring to himself in the third person.
Sammy Holden – Obscure Film

Liz @ JetPom Comics
I make slice of life comic artwork based around my everyday life.
Becky Kidner has been documenting every day in drawings since September 2007 in her ongoing ‘Diary Drawing’ project. The content of the drawings ranges from movies, TV shows, places she’s been to or political events – creating not just a personal portrait but a visual tapestry encompassing recognisable motifs and imagery which the audience can recognise and relate to in unique ways.

Paper Jam Comics Collective (with Mike Duckett)
Newcastle upon Tyne
Paper Jam Comics Collective is a long-lived meeting point for DIY comics-minded people in Newcastle upon Tyne. Some members draw, some write, many procrastinate and we all collaborate, jam, and create anthologies together. These include: History and that, Alcohol and that, Happiness and that, and about 6 others. The latest is a (child-friendly, all-colour) Amazing Adventure Comics Machine.
At present they are planning their next instalment – Bad Decisions and that.
Mike will be representing the collective at Scribblecon, and as an occasional member of the Loosely Bound Zines Collective (Bradford) will have some of their zines available too – plus maybe those of other friends and collaborators too.
Mike has been creating his own zines since 2008 but prefers to give them away rather than sell. He’ll have some of these with him also, to give away as freebies with any purchases made. If you would like to contribute a couple of pages to his latest daft idea, which includes a hole in every single page, talk to him at the table!
Todmorden High School
We are very excited to welcome art students of Todmorden High School to this year’s Scribblecon!
The students will be showing some of their work, and experiencing what it’s like to exhibit at a comic-con, so please say hi and join us in encouraging them!
